How to clear DAW cache manually or within the app.

LOGIC

Within Logic

  1. Navigate Logic Pro > Settings / Plug-In Manager…
  2. Click “Full Audio Unit Rescan”.
  3. Click Yes when prompted.
  4. Restart Logic.

Manually

  1. Close Logic.
  2. Navigate in MacOS Finder to ~/Library/Caches/AudioUnitCache/ 
  3. Manually delete the com.apple.audiounits.cache file (forces a full plug-in scan).
  4. Open terminal and paste killall -9 AudioComponentRegistrar then hit enter
  5. Re-open Logic

PRO TOOLS

MacOS, 2023.12 Or Higher

  1. Close Pro Tools.
  2. Navigate in MacOS Finder to /Users/Shared/Pro Tools/AAXPlugInCache
  3. Manually delete the contents of this folder.
  4. Re-open Pro Tools.

**For Pro Tools 2023.9 or earlier: 

  1. Navigate to a different path ~/Library/Preferences/Avid/Pro Tools/
  2. Manually delete the InstalledAAXPlugIns file).
  3. Re-open Pro Tools.

Windows, 2023.12 Or Higher

  1. Close Pro Tools.
  2. Navigate to C:\Users\Public\Pro Tools\AAXPlugInCache
  3. Manually delete the contents of this folder.
  4. Re-open Pro Tools

**For Pro Tools 2023.9 or earlier: 

  1. Press the Windows key + R.
  2. Enter C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Avid\Pro Tools\ and click on OK.
  3. Manually delete the InstalledAAXPlugIns file)
  4. Re-open Pro Tools.

Studio One

Within App:

  1. From the main window, click the  “View” dropdown menu
  2. Select “Plug-In Manager” from the dropdown
  3. Click “Update Plugin List” on the bottom right of the windows & reset/rescan all plugins.

Manually:

MacOS

  1. Close Studio One.
  2. Navigate in MacOS Finder to ~/Library/Application Support/PreSonus/Studio One 7/ARM64/
  3. Manually delete the PluginBlacklist.settings file
  4. Manually delete the PlugInScanner.log file (forces a full plug-in scan).
  5. Re-open Studio One.

Windows

  1. Close Studio One.
  2. Press Windows key plus R.
  3. Enter C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\PreSonus\Studio One 7\x64\ and click on OK. 
  4. Manually delete the PluginBlacklist.settings file
  5. Manually delete the PlugInScanner.log file (forces a full plug-in scan).
  6. Re-open Studio One.
